摘要
The core of colonial "brain text" is the memory of colonial history, culture and the recognition of colonial ethics. Colonial "brain text" is the basis of British postcolonial writings and the field of compromise with and resistance to imperial cultural hegemony. British postcolonial literature focuses on the influences of colonial "brain text" on (former) colonized people and their descendants. The influences result in their sufferings of spiritual colonization and the confusion of ethical identities. Rewriting British colonial history and British classical literature is British postcolonial writers' strategy to resist the influences of colonial "brain text" and the associated imperial cultural hegemony.
