摘要
This paper discusses considerations and concepts for the design of a personal centrifuge for artificial gravity that is contained in an inflatable space module. Its primary purpose would be to serve as a countermeasure to the adverse effects of longterm exposure of the human body to microgravity. Several recent studies have concluded that it is possible for human crews to adapt to disorientation caused by Coriolis forces in a short radius facility. Based on this premise, this projects proposes to incorporate a 24 feet diameter centrifuge within an inflatable module to accommodate Shuttle launch constraints.
