Mathematical simulation of the regeneration process in the ion-exchangers in the water treatment installations

摘要
Optimal design, adjustment and effective operation of ion-exchange installations in the water treatment systems for heating plants requires reliable and simple mathematical models for calculating different stages of the ion exchanging process. The regeneration of ionites is one of the most important technological stages of this process. The calculation of regeneration consist in the determination of the concentration of the functional groups, capable of participating in the ion exchanging process. The authors developed the mathematical model of this process with the, condition of the absence of side chemical reactions in the ion exchange phases. In the heat supply practice such conditions are characteristic for the water softening processes with participation of cations in form of Na+, K+ and NH4+ in the treating the boiler and heating water. On the basis of this model the procedure of ionites ion exchange ability during the different-valence ion exchange determination was worked out, and also die technology of the regeneration of industrial Na-cationite exchangers, successfully used in the boiler plants.
