摘要
The article dwells on the problem caused by designing and providing training sessions for the students of power engineering department using the operator training simulator. Department of Power Grids and Electrical Engineering, Tomsk Polytechnic University pays great attention to creating methodological and teaching materials as the support for using the operator training simulator. Practical results have been obtained by means of operator training simulator as a software tool for training sessions. Each training session is divided into several stages. At the final stage participants analyse dispatch actions issued as a training protocol with records of events and actions in specific periods of time. These training sessions are performed in a team-based format and every member plays a specific role. Training sessions can be used as training materials for operational dispatch personnel of power companies, and learning materials for students. Thus, each designed training session simulates an actual problem in the power system, which allows dispatch personnel to operate in conditions close to practical working environment. Moreover, the authors suggested and elaborated methodology for providing training sessions with the clearly determined aim and objectives, and roles of the participants.
