摘要
A highly efficient Cu/MgO catalyst for the vapour phase hydrogenation of furfural at atmospheric pressure has been prepared by coprecipitation method. The high conversion of furfural (98%) and high selectivity towards furfuryl alcohol (98%) is attributed to the more number of surface Cu sites as evidenced from N2O pulse chemisorption technique and,the defective sites at Cu and MgO interfacial region.
