EMI problems and control methods in data acquisition systems

Data Acquisition System (DAS) involves measurement of different types of signals whose level will vary fron sensitive low voltage to dangerous high voltage sharing common ground Poor grounding and isolation between channels, between channel to earth results in false and inaccurate representation of acquired signals. Proper use and implementation of signal conditioning methods helped in eliminating problems related ro ground loop and common mode voltages. The Electromagnetic interferences (EMI) problems encountered in the development of Data aquisition systems and the techniques followed to control the noise will be discussed.
