The experimental study on wing rock in low speed wind tunnel

摘要
The wing rock test technique in CARDC 4mx3m low speed wind tunnel was presented in this paper, including test apparatus and test methods as well as data acquisition. The typical test results about wing rock for Fighters with different configurations were also discussed briefly. Finally, the numerical simulation based on the unsteady rolling moment modeling was carried out. Conclusions based on the results were the following: (I)The test apparatus can measure parameters of wing rock effectively, which indicate that the development of test apparatus of wing rock is successful. (2)Wing rock is independent of initial roll angles. Wing rock occurs at moderate to high angles of attack, at which the rolling damping changes from negative to positive. (3)Wing rock is greatly affected by different configurations of a fighter.
