摘要
In this report, the Institute of Hydraulics and Hydrology of the Technical University in Graz describes the results of its investigations about the origin and distribution of precipitation in different space and time scales on the basis of rain gauge- and weather radar data. The investigations take place in the hydrological research basin of Pollau as well as in the catchment areas of the Western Styrian rivers Lassnitz, Kainach and Sulm. Because the Institute of Hydraulics and Hydrology performs the investigations about the origin of floods after rainfall events in small catchment areas for a fairly long time, the spatial as well as the temporal distribution of precipitation is very interesting. The question of the distribution of precipitation was an important task of the investigations in the last years, which could be decisively advanced by the development of weather radar observation.
