CONVERGENCE ANALYSIS OF CHINA'S INTERPROVINCIAL INTERNATIONAL TRADE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SPATIAL EFFECTS

摘要：
Concerning a lack of spatial effects analysis in the current studies, this paper adopts the analysis method in spatial econometrics to study the convergence of China's interprovincial international trade. Spatial autocorrelation Moran's I result shows that there is a significant spatial autocorrelation and cluster trend in China's interprovincial international trade. After spatial effects are taken into consideration, an estimate of China's interprovincial international trade convergence reflects that there is not only an absolute beta convergence but also a conditional. convergence in China's interprovincial international trade from 1998 to 2012. Besides, foreign direct investment (FDI), the financial development level, the ownership structure, investment in fixed assets and human capital are essential factors in influencing the convergence of China's interprovincial international trade.
