摘要
Cooling towers in their service life are subjected to deterioration and damage. Their structural failure could be catastrophic not only in terms of financial loss for a power plant but also in terms of social impact. This paper considers general requirements and procedures for the assessment of existing cooling towers. It is based on the authors' experience in Germany and Poland. The specific problems which are important in doing an assessment of existing cooling towers are also presented.
