摘要
The benefit of appropriate laser photocoagulation for clinically significant diabetic macular edema has been demonstrated hut treatment of cases with 20/20 visual acuity is not so clear. In a prospective trial with 3 years' follow-up, changes in far contrast sensitivity were not significant without clinically significant diabetic macular edema. Changes in near contrast sensitivity showed similar findings by groups. Only treated cases improved with time in all spatial frequencies. Photocoagulation of clinically significant diabetic macular edema and 20/20 visual acuity improves contrast sensitivity.
