摘要
Aims: The study evaluate the conditions of antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus Aureus in skin and soft tissue infections, in order to argue the recommendations for first-line treatment of a Romanian hospital. Materials and methods: The study retrospectively analyzed the pattern of antibiotic susceptibility for staphylococcal isolates in skin and soft tissue infections. Demographic and clinic data of the patients hospitalized with skin and soft tissue infections with methicillin resistant and methicillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus are analyzed. Results: From 266 hospitalized patients with skin and soft tissue infections and bacteriological evidence of staphylococcal positive culture, 69.5% were classified as community infections. The rate of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains is 41.7%. The methicillin resistance was associated with obesity, insulin-requiring diabetes, and previous exposure to health care and recurrent characteristic of skin and soft tissue infections. Conclusion: The first line antibiotic on patients with skin and soft tissue infections has to consider the high risk of antibiotic staphylococcal resistance, especially in patients with previous exposure to health care, obesity and type-1 diabetes. The current profile of staphylococcal antibiotic resistance should consider the use of new antistaphylococcal drugs in the first line of antibiotic treatment.
