摘要
The main objective of the paper is to develop an Application Domain Extension (ADE) of CityGML in UML for the purposes of developing the Smart Cities. The Application Domain Extension is created by expanding CityGML data model with additional information from different databases, in particular: real estate cadastre, register of addresses, topographic database and register of population. The paper outlines how the extension is built with reference to the classes and attributes defined in the conceptual models of Polish spatial databases. The research shows that the CityGML ADE could be a 3D data model for management of densely populated, urban areas and streamline city management processes as well as provide data for urban planning, facility management and other municipal services. The paper presents an innovative vision of using CityGML for supporting the development of Smart Cities. The proposal is essential with respect to the reuse of the spatial data in different application fields and the cost-effective maintenance of 3D city models. Furthermore, the investigations confirm the appropriate direction of works conducted by the Open Geospatial Consortium on development of version 3.0 of the CityGML standard, inter alia by adding semantic representation for land administration.
