摘要
We investigate the performance of various metallic and bi-metallic coatings on FBG based sensors for strain sensing at high temperatures (70-600 degree C) through simulations. Titanium coating was found to offer the best sensitivity of 48pm/N among single metal coated FBGs. Titanium-Zinc (Ti/Zn) provides an optimum sensitivity of 45pm/N among bimetallic coatings. Our analysis reveals that compared to bimetallic coatings, single metal coatings provide better sensitivity towards force sensing at high temperatures.
