摘要
In this chapter we describe two applications of new hydrolytically-degradable PEG derivatives. The first involves synthesis of ester-containing PEGs for preparation of soluble PEG-drug conjugates in which the PEG is attached to the drug via a hydrolytically degradable linkage. The second application involves use of these and related PEGs to prepare degradable PEG hydrogels. Degradation rates can be controlled by variation in molecular structure of the esters and in the degree of branching of the PEGs.
