摘要
How did environmental sustainability permeate the political-academic debate on development and which themes are still under discussion within the scope of sustainable development objectives (SDGs)? From an interdisciplinary literature review, this work presents a trajectory of development studies, culminating in the SDGs. From a technical and one-dimensional perspective, from a post-Cold War window of opportunity, the debate moved towards a multidimensional and transversal approach, involving the social and environmental spheres. However, critics question whether the SDGs represent a legitimate and implementable agenda, considering all setbacks in international and domestic policies.
