摘要
Multidimensional separation techniques involve the sample being dispersed in different time dimensions. When the sample is separated using two dissimilar columns, the total peak capacity will be the product of the peak capacities of the individual columns, representing a huge gain in separation space. This review discusses the operating principles of and current applications for two-dimensional gas chromatography with heartcutting.
