The powder metallurgy processing program at concurrent Technologies corporation (CTC) is profiled. Powder metallurgy is part of a major focus at CTC on net shape processes, including casting and solid phase forming. This, in turn, is part of a broad spectrum of activities at CTC on the total life-cycle of materials processing, including refinement shapemaking, surfacing, structural treatment joining, maintenance, refurbishment and recycling. Environmental technologies and electronic commerce capabilities are integrated, as well, to provide a comprehensive approach to technology transition for industry. Powder metallurgy projects at CTC are developed in response to client needs. These include P/M industry standards, powder compaction modeling, hot isostatic pressing of complex shapes, powder injection molding of jet engine components, tungsten alloy penetrators, high temperature superconducting materials and production of SmCo magnets.
