Research of Multicast Algorithm on a Novel Interconnection Network PGLH

On the basis of the simple topology of ring, short diameter of Petersen graph, and high connectivity of hypercube, a novel interconnection network, Petersen Graph Looped Hypercube (PGLH), is proposed, and whose characteristics are studied simultaneously. It is proved that PGLH is not only of well extensibility, but also of shorter diameter than those previously well-known interconnection networks such as Q. In addition, the improved multicast routing algorithm is designed for PGLH, whose communication efficiency is proved to be better when the multicast destination nodes are in a large quantity.
