Is there (still) a future for archaeometry in the 21st Century?

摘要：
This paper describes the position of archaeometry in Central europe. Positive and negative experiences gathered during 25 years of archaeometric research work show that the future e.g, the survival of this discipline is very questionable. There will be a positive issue if a) archaeometry is introduced in the archaeology curicula and b) enough funding is supplied to establish competitive centres of excellence as well as enough permanent archaeometry positions.
