摘要：

This paper presents a grounded theory-based study of EDI use based on case studies of four organizations belonging to different industries. Different types of causal conditions, EDI uses, and strategies for encouraging EDI use are identified along with organizational and environmental factors that impact EDI use in organizations. The different: consequences of EDI use are highlighted for individuals, organizations, and groups of organizations. The primary contribution of this study is to provide an empirically grounded theory to address how and why questions regarding EDI use.
