摘要
Measured light polarization dependent resonant Raman spectra from spatially isolated semiconducting single- and doublewall carbon nanotubes are reported. Most of the observed modes intensities exhibit two or fourfold symmetry, for VV and VH configuration, respectively. Weak quantitative changes in the G bands have been observed suggesting different subbands transitions E-mu(v)-> E-mu(c) contribution. Model explaining both the angular variation and week quantitative changes is presented. Selected carbon nanotubes electronic and optical properties are studied using the ab initio calculations in order to complete the outlook. (C) 2009 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
