摘要
When blended-fiber yarns are spun from staple fibers and the textile products made from these yarns are dyed, or when differently colored staple yarns are blended, it is well known that the overall color appearance of the final products can vary widely from production lot to production lot. This may even result in blended greige goods being sold as unsuitable for cross-dyeing. This study examines the effect of wide variations in the blending process alone as a cause for differences in the color appearance of the final products, and takes the extreme case of blending black and white polyester fibers while keeping them in the same 50:50 (w/b) blend ratio.
