Congestion control over TCP networks based on sliding mode control algorithm

摘要
For solving the problem of the transmission control protocol (TCP) networks congestion, an algorithm of an active queue management (AQM) scheme based on sliding mode control (SMC) is proposed. By directly analyzing the nonlinear TCP/AQM model, the proposed algorithm has good robustness with respect to the uncertainties of the round-trip time (RTT) and the number of TCP connections. A reaching law that can obviously reduce chattering is proposed. By applying the reaching law to the system, the proposed controller can effectively restrain the oscillation of the queue length in router. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has good stability and robustness in different scenarios.
