Research on E-government and its development in China

With the coming of knowledge economy era and with the development of the information technology, Informationization has extended from the enterprises to the governments step by step. Informationization of the governments is called as E-government, which becomes more important than before in our society. Many kinds of conceptions on E-government have been given from the middle of 1990's. This paper systematically and deeply studies the characteristics of these different conceptions and several key factors that affect the application on E-government, according to which the more comprehensive conception is explained in this paper. Further this paper analyses the differences on E-government between the developed countries and China and the present of E-government in China. According to the present condition of the information technology, this paper put forward the direction of development on E-government in China.
