摘要
Copper was oxidized in the temperature range from 300 to 1000 degreesC under different pressures of oxygen. In the range from 300 to 500 degreesC, copper oxidizes following the logarithmic rate law; while in the range from 600 to 1000 degreesC oxidation follows the parabolic rate law. Transition from logarithmic to parabolic growth occurs at about 525 degreesC. X-ray diffraction was performed on oxide scales to account for the CuO/Cu2O ratio at different temperatures. Activation energies found in this work are in good agreement with reported values.
