The presence of Fauvism in animation. Contribution to the study of color in contemporary animation

In this project we analyze the use of color in a set of animated shorts where we ascertain the presence of Fauvist principles. The principal focus is on the use of pure colors as a form of expression and language to establish the relationship between this particular artistic movement with contemporary animation. A methodology will be developed based on the identification and analysis of shorts in which the relation with fauvism can be considered immediate by the use of pure colors associated with movement and other characteristics of animation. This research will be applied to an animated short project developed during master of illustration and animation. During this process it is expected to find "fauvistic solutions" to apply in animation, understanding the presence and richness of the movement nowadays in audiovisuals in general and in contemporary animation in particular.
