High Power UHF IOT for CW and Pulsed Applications

摘要
A standard TV broadcast IOT from e2v technologies can easily be fitted into a tuneable circuit adapted for CW or pulsed applications enabling pulse peak powers up to 140kW or CW powers up to 80kW to be achieved over a frequency range of 400MHz to 810MHz. The IOTD2130 was first introduced for TV broadcasting in 1999 and is now used worldwide in both analogue and digital transmission applications. It provides the highest available output power of any e2v IOT and over 190 tubes are in regular service, reliably achieving >60,000 operating hours. The IOTD2130 has several features that make it ideal for CW applications. These features include direct water-cooling of the all copper internal anode, a large diameter output ceramic and a fully enclosed input circuit. This paper presents test results and performance data for CW operation of the IOTD2130 over a range of frequencies from 500MHz to 800MHz and pulsed performance at a frequency of 402.5MHz.
