On Elliptic Curves and Binary Quartic Forms

A Dirichlet series is defined whose coefficients are determined by counting certain integral points on the quadratic twists of an elliptic curve. The function defined by this series has a meromorphic continuation with at most a simple pole at a certain distinguished point. In certain cases, the residue there gives a class number formula for positive definite binary quartic forms.
