摘要
Global methane emissions can be estimated using either a top-down or bottom-up approach or a combination of the two. A recent analysis by EPA, which uses increasingly available bottom-up estimates based on higher tier IPCC methodologies, has resulted in significantly lower emissions of CH4 in 1090 than IPCC top-down methods or other more generalized bottom up methods. This paper compares the global estimates from different sources and explores possible reasons for the differences.
