Studies on the syntheses and spectral characteristics of new schiff base mononuclear complexes

The syntheses of bis[N, N' - ethylene - 2,2' - (phenylmethylene)bis(3,4 - dimethyl pyrrole - 5 - aldimino)]monometallic complexes MH2L [M = Mn(II), Fe(III)Cl, Cr(III)Cl, Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn (II)] were first described. Their spectral characters and configurations were also discussed. The monometallic complexes were prepared by the reaction of ethylenediamine with another series of Schiff base mononuclear complexes, derived by the reaction of the appropriate metal salts with a Schiff base ligand. The Schiff base ligand was prepared from the [1 + 2] condensation of ethylenediamine with 2, 2' - (phenylmethylene) bis(3, 4 - dimethylpyrrole - 5 - carboxaldehyde).
