Comparison of pulse-width modulation algorithms for three-phase voltage inverters

摘要
It is suggested that electrical power losses be regarded as a criterion for comparing different pulse-width modulations (PWM). It is physically sound to use an integral quadratic criterion whose values are proportional to the additional switching losses in inductive load of autonomous voltage inverters (AVI). Different PWM algorithms are compared, and recommendations are given concerning their use. The optimum PWM algorithm has been synthesized in the form of a combination of familiar and new algorithms. The optimum PWM algorithm ensures a reduction in losses in AVI load by a factor of up to 2.5. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
