The relative importance of CO2 reforming during the catalytic partial oxidation of CH4-CO2 mixtures

摘要
Carbon dioxide (CO2) reforming has been found to contribute significantly to the production of synthesis gas by the partial oxidation of mixtures of methane and CO(2)over supported rhodium catalysts. Under partial oxidation conditions, up to an additional 11% conversion of methane was obtained on the addition of CO2 as compared to reaction without CO2. The catalyst was found to restructure under operating conditions, but this had no effect on activity or selectivity.
