摘要
This paper forms part of a larger PhD study (work in progress) at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC). The purpose of the larger study is to investigate the potential of mobile technologies for small, medium and large-sized tourism enterprises (SMEs), destination development and marketing, through a consideration of issues relating to the exploitation of new technologies by small tourism businesses. To achieve this aim, an initial framework for mobile information technology provision for the tourism sector was proposed, which is based on the literature review. The initial outcomes from this framework identify that the implementation of a system for tow-ism mobile marketing using mobile commerce in any destination would comprise three key aspects: destination level leadership/coordination; participation of small, medium and large-sized tourism enterprises; third party technology solutions.
