摘要
A new semiorganic nonlinear optical material Glycine oxalate dihydrate (GOD) has been synthesized and crystals have been grown from its supersaturated solution by slow evaporation method using water as a solvent for the first time. Purity of the grown crystal can be increased by the method called recrystallization. Crystal structure and unit cell dimensions of GOD can be obtained using powder X-ray diffraction analysis. The functional groups of GOD and their modes of vibration were identified from Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectral analysis. Transparency of the grown crystal GOD was studied using Ultraviolet visible spectral analysis. Second harmonic generation efficiency was confirmed by Kurtz-Perry method. TGA and DTA studies were carried out to study about the thermal properties of the grown crystal. (C) 2016 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
