Osteomyelitis and septic arthritis of the forearm, wrist and hand are severe conditions affecting the function and viability of the hand and may even threaten patients' life. The factors predisposing to these conditions and parameters affecting their prognosis are elucidated in the present series of 16 patients with osteomyelitis (12) and septic arthritis (4).
