摘要
Psychometric properties of a German version of the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI, Raskin & Hall, 1979, 1981) are investigated across four different samples. The scale taps into subclinical narcissism as a personality construct. Results showed that both a 40-item long version and a 15-item short version had good internal consistency and temporal stability (two months). Satisfactory evidence of convergent and discriminant validity was obtained by relating the NPI to measures of other personality constructs (e.g., self-esteem, Big Five). However, the factor structure we found differed from that found by both Emmons (1987) and Raskin and Terry (1988) though it resembles the latter more than the former.
