Evaluation for Sustainable Land Use of Yanshan County

Evaluation for sustainable land use has always been research topic of land science and related disciplines. Based on the analysis of connotation and significance of evaluation for sustainable land use, this paper studys Yanshan county sustainable land use which is the representation of Jiangnan district of China. First of all, the paper gives a brief introduction of Yanshan county from the natural, economic and social aspects. Furthermore, it studies its land use structure in 2005. Last but not the least, researches concerns evaluation for sustainable land use and advances on evaluation criteria in terms of productivity-se curity-protection-viability-acceptability indicators from Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which shows that the land use of Yanshan county is sustainable. With the evaluation of Yanshan county sustainable land use, the paper has great significance in solving the contradiction of man and land, implementing the sustainable development of land resources.
