摘要：

In pastoral farming systems, livestock graze on natural (spontaneous) vegetation. Such systems can take a variety of forms depending on herd type and the proportion of natural vegetation in the herd's diet. Over the course of exchanges with PASTO joint Technology Unit partners, we identified and discussed the main features that characterise modem French pastoral farming. This type of fanning generates products that farmers can sell to boost their earnings. It is also heavily dependent on subsidies. Pastoral farming is carried out by passionate individuals, and it requires specific know-how and skills. This intrinsically adaptable and more natural form of farming does a good job of utilising remarkable areas.
