The Promoting Effect of Design Competition on the Teaching Reform of Visual Communication Design Major

With the rapid development of China's economy and the rapid progress of education, visual communication major has been paid more and more attention by major universities. And the new teaching model is actively explored; design competition is one of the hot spots. In this paper, through the deep analysis on the effect of the design competition on the teaching reform of the visual communication design major, the scores of the students who had been taught by the design contest were significantly higher than the students who were taught by the traditional teaching mode were obtained, the employment situation was much better, which provided a direction for the future professional reform of visual communication design major education.
