A new suggestion for the classification of missing values in the outcome of clinical trials

摘要：
Because of the considerable confusion and disagreement in the literature, we propose a new classification for dropout mechanisms. We allow for the influence of treatment results and covariates on the probability of dropout. Our clear and precise classification of dropout mechanisms facilitates communication about reasons for and consequences of missing values.
