摘要
A low-cost surface-mount monopole antenna obtained by folding a metallic strip onto a low-profile square-disk foam base is presented. With a compact size of 10 X 10 X 2 mm(3), the antenna can generate two separate wide resonant modes, with the lower mode covering the 2.4-GHz WLAN band (2400-2484 MHz), and the upper mode covering both of the 5.2-GHz HIPERLAN band (51505350 MHz) and the 5.8-GHz ISM band (5725-5875 MHz). Good measured antenna gain for operating frequencies across the 2.4/5.2/ 5.8-GHz bands is also obtained. (C) 2003 Wiley Periodicals.
