PARTICIPANTS MOTIVATION AND HEALTH PROMOTION IN ECOLOGY PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Leisure activity is gradually emphasised by the public in past years. In addition to expanding the vision of leisure, the depth of leisure is expected to acquire higher leisure value. Cutting in from college basketball, this study mainly discusses the relations between serious leisure characteristics and participant motivation, leisure constraints and health promotion as well as the role play. Taking college basketball lovers in Sichuan Province, China, as the research subjects, total 328 valid copies of questionnaire are retrieved. The regression analysis shows that participant motivation would directly affect serious leisure characteristics and leisure constraints, leisure constraints would directly affect serious leisure characteristics and health promotion, and serious leisure characteristics would directly affect health promotion. The path analysis reveals the total mediation effect of serious leisure characteristics on participant motivation and health promotion, meaning that participant motivation would not directly affect health promotion, but would indirectly affect health promotion through the mediation effect of serious leisure characteristics.
