Discrimination of VF and VT with method of detrended fluctuation analysis

摘要
Since ventricular fibrillation exhibit dynamical properties and self-similarity, ventricular tachycardia exhibit chaotic characteristic, we applied the method of detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) as a measure of discriminating VT and VF by quantifying the long-range correlation property of both cardiac rhythm. Through log-log plot of the fluctuation function F(n) versus n, we can obtain short term scaling exponent alpha(1) and long term scaling exponent alpha(2). These two parameters of VT and VF show significant different value in different region, this can be used as and indicator of differentiating VT and VF.
