Attributes and problems uniquely related to fuzzy colorings of fuzzy hypergraphs are explored and clarified in relationship to a prototype example. An attempt is made to show how fuzzy colorings may be used to help analyze long range planning decisions which,are inherently fuzzy. For a useful subclass of fuzzy hypergraphs, beta-degree methods for extending partial colorings are carefully analyzed and efficient extension algorithms are provided.
