The global challenge facing the European aerospace sector

This article is on the conference held by the Ingenieur General de l'Armement Henri Martre on 5 March 1997 at the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union, in Brussels. This conference was jointly organized by Mr Pierre de Boissieu, permanent Representative of France to the European Union, and the European Association of Aerospace industries (AECMA). The author divided his conference into two main parts: (i) what the European aerospace industry is; (ii) the challenges to be faced. After his presentation, he answered a number of questions from the audience.
