摘要：

Recently, Martelli and colleagues reported on the structural and functional characterization of new antimycobacterials based on N-thio-beta-lactams. Surprisingly, the inhibitory mechanism follows a path unexpected for beta-lactams, providing an alternative route to defeat drug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
