摘要
The capacity of 17 strains of E. coli (12 of them - uropathogenic, 4 - from other pathotypes, and one non-pathogenic) to form biofilms was examined. The bacteria were cultivated on microtitre plates on minimal glucose medium M63 for 48 h, the attached cells were stained with crystal violet and the absorbance was registered on ELISA reader. Strain to strain differences were observed. Two of the uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains that formed good biofilm were chosen to test the effects of biogenic factors (quorum sensing and epinephrine). Surprisingly, these factors had diverse effects on each of the two strains.
