Avulsion of the long digital extensor muscle and partial avulsion of the popliteal muscle in a four months old labrador mixed breed dog. A four months old labrador mixed breed dog was presented with a lameness due to an avulsion of the long digital extensor muscle and a partial avulsion of the popliteal muscle of the right hindlimb. The origins of the tendons were fixed with titan staples in the first surgery. The fixation of the popliteal muscle failed one month later. The tendons were fixed with sutures in a second surgery. Eight weeks after the second surgery the dog was free of lameness.
