Experimental investigation of rivulet movement on the surface of heated falling liquid film

摘要
The formation of thermocapillary structures on the surface of falling water film and their motion along the heater is studied experimentally. For the analysis of experimental data, an algorithm that automatically determines the position of the forming rivulets is proposed. It is shown that the rivulets that are forming along the heater can move across the stream and this movement drastically increases with the heat flux.
